Pulsation Control
INERTANCE can perform the pulsation study for reciprocating equipment (Pump and compressor), and design the pulsation control devices such as pulsation dampener, design for helmholtz frequency, Surge volume, Pulsation bottle, etc.
Dampener (Side branch)
Pulsation dampener has to be carefully designed as per the type of reciprocating pump, because this type as side branch is available only for narrow available range, which is helmholtz frequency. The branch pipe length & diameter is an important parameters to estimate the applicable range.
Helmholtz Frequency
Below figures are for side-branch type of pulsation dampener. This type of dampener should be carefully designed as per those target & helmholtz frequency. In case helmholtz frequency does not matched with target frequency, those control efficiency will be significantly reduced.
Surge Volume (In-line type)
Below figures are for in-line type of surge volume for pulsation control of reciprocating pump. Those volume has to be designed very carefully, and the height & diameter ratio has to be determined as per target pulsation criteria. The sphere shape of surge volume normally has good efficiency to reduce the pulsation amplitudes.
Pulsation Design
With application of control devices, those acoustic simulation can be performed as shown in below figure. INERTANCE can design the practical pulsation design to minimize the design impact of piping system during detail engineering stage.
