Pulsation Compressor Vibration, Pipe support, Orifice, Pump vibration

Pulsation Compressor Vibration, Pipe support, Orifice, Pump vibration: INERTANCE designs the pulsation control such as low pass filter, pipe support, orifice, mechanical design against compressor vibration and pump vibration.

Pulsation Control Device

INERTANCE can perform the pulsation study for reciprocating equipment, and design the pulsation control devices such as low pass filter, pulsation suppression device, pipe support, orifice, pipe geometry, mechanical design, etc. against compressor vibration and pump vibration.

Low pass filter

The addition of simple volume, the specialized low pass filter with practical size can reduce pulsation amplitudes. Even if those filter could not attenuate all pulsation frequencies, the low pass filter is a more effective pulsation control device.

To avoid Compressor Vibration

Pulsation suppression device can be designed as per pressure vessel code (ex. ASME), and its volume (low pass filter) has to be designed sufficiently to control the pulsation levels. Below figure is for typical drawing for pulsation suppression device for reciprocating compressor.

Pipe Support

Pipe support is designed as results of mechanical review and piping restraint analysis. Number of supports and location have to be considered with practical solution in order to avoid the mechanical resonance by shaking force and piping vibration.

Orifice

Orifice plate can be used at various location in piping system to reduce acoustical response at resonant frequencies. The pressure drop resulting from an orifice plate acts as acoustical damping and reduces pulsation amplitudes.

To avoid Pump Vibration

Piping engineers can design the pipe arrangement with consideration of pulsation concerns. For example, length of straight pipe and elbow radius can effect the pulsation amplitude as shown in below figures. (ex. short radius elbow (right), long radius elbow (left))
